It has been interpreted as a nostalgic memory of himself as a young boy. This is the third and final state of the lithograph and was made on 11/7/1945. Picasso first went to the atelier of Fernand Mourlot on 11/02/1945 and returned there to work every day for four months, arriving before 9:00 AM and leaving after 8:00 PM. Together they produced 179 lithographs in the span of 4 years. Title A name given to the resource Original: La Colombe Translation: Dove Description An account of the resource This is a lithograph made by Picasso on 01/09/1949 in the atelier of Fernand Mourlot in Paris. It is a simple composition that, as the title suggests, depicts a dove which is a symbol of peace. Mourlot called it 'one of the most beautiful lithographs ever achieved.' Picasso was known to be a defender of peace, having produced anti-war pieces such as Guernica and attended World Peace Congresses in Wroclaw, Paris, Sheffield, and Rome. Dove was used to illustrate the poster of the 1949 Paris Peace Congress. His fourth daughter, who was named Paloma (the Spanish word for dove), was born the day before the event.
